Best Selling New Cars and LCVs in the World in 2016

According to the statistics in 2016 more than 93 million of new cars and light commercial vehicles (LCVs) were sold in the world, which is 4.6% more than in 2015. The best selling Car Makes in 2016 were Toyota – 8.5 million cars sold (+ 0.8%), Volkswagen – 6.5 (+ 1.7%) and Ford – 6.2 (2.3%). Leading models were: Toyota Corolla – 1.316 million cars sold (-1.7%), Ford F-Series – 0.994 (+ 8.0%) and Volkswagen Golf – 0.991 (-4.8%). In 2016 Toyota topped the world’s search ranking in Google search queries.
